Grantown on Spey

The capital of Strathspey, Grantown was a popular holiday town with the Victorians and retains many of the splendid buildings which make its bustling town centre so attractive.

The Speyside Way and the Dava Way meet here allowing walkers a choice of routes into Moray, as well as an excellent selection of local footpaths through part of the wildlife-rich ancient Caledonian pine forest known as Anagach Woods. The famous osprey centre at Loch Garten is nearby.

It is a centre for many outdoor activities, from skiing in the Cairngorm mountains, to canoeing down the Spey and has always been a popular salmon fishing destination.
