Going Off the Rails!

Join the enthusiasts of the Keith and Dufftown railway and the Moray Council Ranger Service for a train trip from Dufftown Station to Drummuir halt and enjoy a great walk back in stunning scenery on the Isla Way. See the open water of Loch Park and follow a hillside track under the eaves of Tulloch Wood and Scaut Hill with views to the Conval Hills on the skyline. This is a great walk and one not to be missed.


Meet: 10.50am at Dufftown Railway Station (train leaves 11.10am), AB55 4BA; Grid ref: NJ322414

Duration: 3½ hours (15 minute train ride, 3½ hours walking to Dufftown)

Distance: 15 minutes train ride followed by 6 mile (9.5km) walk back

Difficulty: 3 (Moderate)

Cost: £12 per person (including rail fare)

Notes: Bring packed lunch. Stout footwear and suitable outdoor clothing are required. Circular walk.
