Up & Doon Aroon Keith Toon

This 9 mile (14 km) walk starts & finishes at Reidhaven Square in Keith. We’ll take the minor road to Balloch Forest & then follow the waymarked paths to the summit of Meikle Balloch hill (366m) from which there are great views of the surrounding countryside. We’ll pause here (weather permitting) for a snack & then we’ll head down to the nearby Dunnyduff Woods. Following the winding forest tracks, we’ll reach the picturesque Tarnash Falls & then will stroll through the woods back to our starting point at Reidhaven Square.

This is mostly a gentle, undulating route, but the ascent to the hill summit is fairly steep. The open terrain means walkers will be exposed to the weather – be it sunshine, rain, or strong winds. After rain, we may encounter some muddy or boggy sections underfoot. Please wear suitable clothing & footwear & bring a packed lunch, drinks & something waterproof to sit on.
