Wild Swim of Lochindorb - Swimming with the Wolf

Join Wild Highlanders and Calum Maclean of 'Wild Swimming in Scotland'. Learn about wild swimming and the historical and natural heritage of Lochindorb. Then for those who like a challenge join us for a wild swim around this mythical island.

We’ll meet for an introduction to Lochindorb then join a group of local wild swimmers and wild swimmer, writer and film maker Calum Maclean for a challenging but rewarding swim to the now ruined castle on the Island on Lochindorb, home of Legendary Wolf of Badenoch. Lochindorb is beautiful but exposed, still as it’s the middle of June and using Calum’s own scale, temperatures will be “No Bad.. / Aye Alright..”
After the swim there will be soup, coffee and cake while watching films by Calum and “Afterglow”, a film by artist and wild swimmer Vivienne Rickman-Poole. All followed by a Q&A session Calum himself.

Bring: Wetsuit recommended, surf/ swim shoes or other shoes suitable to wear whilst swimming. If swimming barefoot shoes will be transported to the island so you can explore before the return swim. Towel and warm clothes for return.

Meet: Dava School House, 8:45 to 9:45am

Swim distance: 1km

Duration: Swim - 1hr approx, event 3.5 hours approx

Difficulty: 5 (Challenging)
